Through professional coaching, mentoring and facilitation, I support
non-profit organisations to develop confident, collaborative leaders with 
productive, effective and motivated teams, who together achieve incredible results.

 

I work with organisations to create coaching cultures where people thrive and change strategies are smoothly executed.  I work with leadership teams to create value and collectively achieve their vision.  I work with leader-managers to develop effective working relationships built on trust, respect, empowerment, interdependence and collaboration.  I work with new managers to develop confidence and key skills. 

 

Underpinning all of this is my essential personal mastery process guiding leaders and managers to discover who they are and how they show up for the good of the organisation's goals.

Leadership Team Coaching

Leadership Team Coaching is the process of coaching your whole team both together and apart, to enable you to:

  • Collaborate and learn across diversity
  • Develop collective leadership

  • Effectively engage with their key stakeholders
  • Jointly transform the wider organisation

Project Management Coaching

Targeting the third skillset required for solid project and programme management, this coaching programme supports you to:

  • Increase personal mastery, by understanding how and why you show up how you do, what needs to be amplified and what needs to be worked on to
  • Improve your ability to build and maintain effective working relationships

New Manager Mentoring & Coaching

Becoming a manager can be stressful on several levels.  There are still many "accidental" managers promoted for their technical skills rather than management training or experience.  Current research has shown a reluctance from Gen Z to apply for management posts due to the perceived stress and radically increased responsibility without sufficiently correlating remuneration.  This is a potential problem for all organisations.

I work closely with HR and line-management to co-create a tailored coaching and mentoring programme for your rising stars resulting in an easeful, confident sustainable transition. 

Change Management Coaching

Change is inevitable. Change coaching with leaders, groups, teams and individuals strengthens buy-in. Coaching assists people at multiple levels in your organisation to internalise the need for change and to own their role in the change. This works towards meaningful transformation.  

Including change coaching in your change strategy gets your people on board.

Thrive in a Coaching Culture 

A coaching culture benefits all levels of the organisation.  

 Leaders listen so much more, and convene gatherings of team members who find their own solutions. 

Leaders feel less pressure to always have all the answers.

Team members feel valued, seen and heard.  

Motivation and producivity increases all round. 

This three month programme includes training in fundamental coaching skills followed by mentoring and coaching on your application.

Make Meetings Matter

We spend a huge amount of time in meetings.  How many are actually useful with people leaving them energised and motivated to perform? 

This mentoring programme does two things:  First, we analyse your meetings – who you meet with, for what purpose and how often, plus what crucial connections are not taking place – and then you are supported to create a fit-for-purpose meeting schedule. 

Second, you will be introduced to a new way of running your meetings where time is maximised, all voices are heard, the freshest thinking is present, and your project moves forward at pace.

I am passionate about social change and committed to working towards a socially just, healthy, safe and sustainable world.  I do this by bringing the proven benefits of transformational coaching to organisations addressing social issues. 

 

After 8 years in corporate public relations in the UK, I changed careers and qualified in adult education.  I came to South Africa in 2001 as a volunteer training manager on a youth HIV programme.  During my 2-year contract, I fell in love with the region, and committed myself to being a contribution to its progress. 

 

With over 20 years’ capacity building experience in donor funded organisations and the public sector, I understand the challenges faced by leadership and your teams.  From being a senior leader-manager through to steering committee member, NGO Board member, and consultant coach, I’ve experienced first-hand the commitment and passion that drives people in the sector despite these constraints.   

A life-long learner, I completed a Masters degree in Education, which involved an outcome evaluation of a health care worker training intervention.  I hold the City & Guilds Further and Adult Education Teaching Certificate, I’m a Skills Development Facilitator (SA SETA), and certified in Prosci ADKAR Change Management.  I completed my initial International Coach Federation accredited training in coaching in 2013, and continue with my professional development. This includes certification in Systemic Team Coaching; Time to Think and Thinking Partnerships (based on the work of Nancy Kline); and Organisational Development Coaching.

My approach

Whether I am coaching, mentoring, or facilitating, I do so in a co-active, collaborative manner. I integrate your previous learning and experiences, drawing only on the most relevant coaching tools and processes to achieve the desired outcomes.

 

As a strengths-based coach. I believe that no matter what the context, all organisations, teams and individuals have strengths. When these are maximised, you can achieve the incredible.  I am driven by the principals of positive psychology. As a result, I work with you to appreciate and build on strengths, reframe challenges and shift negative narratives. In addition, I support you to create thinking environments, and harness the power of possibility leadership. 

 

With a deep understanding of the limited budgets available for personnel development, most of my programmes are delivered live on-line.  Not only does this reduce the cost for you to participate, it also reduces our impact on the environment.  

 

Sustainability is a key value for me. I work with you to build skills, processes and mindsets to reduce the need for external support and move forward independently.
